According to the newly revealed 7-Zip benchmarks of AMD's EYPC 9755 Turin ‘Zen 5’ processor, it delivers twice the performance of its predecessor, the EYPC 9754 Bergamo.

The EYPC 9755, the flagship of AMD's fifth-generation EYPC family, features 128 cores and 256 threads, with a base frequency of 2.70GHz and acceleration up to 4.10GHz.

Compared to its predecessor, the number of cores/threads has increased by 33%, the clock frequency has been boosted by 11%, and its cache capacity has been significantly enhanced, totaling 650 MB of cache.

7-Zip benchmark results show that the EYPC 9755 reaches a maximum speed of 346,000 KB/s in the compression test, with a rating of 395.969 GIPS, and a speed of 4,445,781 KB/s in the decompression test, with a rating of 395.525 GIPS.

In comparison, the EYPC 9754 had a maximum speed of 171,000 KB/s in the compression test with a rating of 195.572 GIPS, and a speed of 222,490 KB/s in the decompression test with a rating of 197.638 GIPS and an average rating of 196.775 GIPS.

This significant performance increase can be attributed to AMD's optimizations and technological advancements in the Zen 5 architecture, allowing the EYPC 9755 to deliver a notable boost in performance per core, even though both processors have the same number of cores.
