Intel has officially announced the release of its next-generation low-power Core Ultra processor, codenamed Lunar Lake, scheduled for 9 a.m. on September 3. This lineup is expected to debut as the Core Ultra200V series. Several specific models and their rough specifications have already been leaked.

The Core Ultra5 228V recently appeared on GeekBench6, positioning itself as one of the most entry-level models in the new series. Its specifications closely resemble those of the Core Ultra5 226V, differing primarily in their integrated memory capacities of 32GB and 16GB, respectively.

Both processors feature a base power consumption of 17W and a maximum of 30W (excluding the top-tier Core Ultra9 288V). They are equipped with a 4P+4E architecture, totaling 8 cores and 8 threads, and include an 8MB L3 cache. The P cores can reach a maximum frequency of 4.5GHz, and the E cores top out at 3.5GHz. These models also integrate an ARC A130 GPU with a frequency of 1.85GHz.

In GeekBench6 tests, the Core Ultra5 228V achieved an impressive single-core score of 2585 points. This score outshines the contemporary flagship Core Ultra9 185H, which has a base power consumption of 54W and a peak frequency of 5.1GHz!

Interestingly, the single-core performance is also very close to AMD's previous Ryzen 9 8945HS and 7945HS models.

For multi-core performance, the Core Ultra5 228V posted a score of 10,053, which is on par with the previously disclosed Core Ultra7 268V and Core Ultra9 288V models, given that they all share the 4P+4E architecture.
