Intel will officially release its high-performance second-generation Core Ultra processors, codenamed Arrow Lake, on October 10th. The initial batch includes five K-series processors, which will be available on October 24th along with Z890 motherboards. Mainstream desktop and mobile versions, as well as B860 motherboards, will be released early next year.

Their final specifications are now fully confirmed, aligning with previous rumors, as shown in the table below:

The flagship model, the Core Ultra 9 285K, features a hybrid architecture with 24 cores (8 performance cores and 16 efficient cores) and 24 threads. It includes 40MB of L2 cache and 36MB of L3 cache—interestingly, the lineup has more L2 cache than L3 cache, which is unusual.

The performance cores have a base frequency of 3.7GHz and can accelerate up to 5.6GHz. Efficient cores have a base frequency of 3.2GHz and can accelerate up to 4.6GHz. RWD Max 3.0 technology enables acceleration up to 5.6GHz, and TVB technology can push it to 5.7GHz.

The base power consumption is 125W, with a maximum RWD power consumption of 250W.

Compared to the current flagship, the i9-14900K (excluding the limited edition i9-14900KS), the core count remains the same, but it lacks hyper-threading. The L2 cache is increased by 8MB (from the performance cores), while the L3 cache remains the same.

The base frequencies for both performance and efficient cores are significantly higher—500MHz and 800MHz respectively—while the acceleration frequency for performance cores remains unchanged and is increased by 200MHz for efficient cores.

The RWD Max 3.0 and TVB acceleration frequencies are slightly more conservative, decreased by 200MHz and 300MHz, respectively.

As for power consumption, the base power remains the same, while the maximum RWD power consumption is reduced by 3W.

Clearly, the Core Ultra 200K series is designed with a more conservative approach concerning specifications, aiming for stability over aggressive performance boosts.

The other models in the series have progressively lower specifications. Notably, the Core Ultra 5 series sees its maximum power consumption drastically reduced to 159W, which is 22W lower than the 14th generation.

While not listed in detail, it is confirmed that the core architecture will be the first generation Xe, similar to the 13th and 14th generations, rather than the latest Xe2 architecture used in the Lunar Lake Core Ultra 200V series. The NPU component is also a generation behind.

It's also noteworthy that each manufacturer's Z890 motherboards will default to the more conservative "Intel Default Settings," enabling users to fully utilize the nominal performance. However, for overclocking, manufacturers will offer their performance and limit modes for users to manually select.
