With the upcoming launch of the Zen5-architecture Ryzen AI 300 series, AMD is making a strategic move by introducing a special Zen4-architecture product: Ryzen 7 8745HS.

Although the naming is very close to the existing Ryzen 7 8845HS, the primary difference lies in the absence of the NPU AI engine in the 8745HS.

AMD has a history of releasing APU processors with the GPU portion disabled, but this marks the first instance where the NPU unit has been omitted.

The remaining specifications for the Ryzen 7 8745HS are expected to be unchanged, featuring 8 Zen4 CPU cores with a maximum clock speed of 5.1GHz, Radeon 780M integrated graphics (with RDNA3 architecture and 12 compute units), and a thermal design power (TDP) of 35-45W.

Notably, the Ryzen 7 8845HS is itself a variant of the Ryzen 7 7840HS.
