Intel's entry-level desktop processor line is about to welcome a new member. The Core Ultra 3 205 has been recently identified in a leaked "Arrow Lake-S" specification sheet, confirming its existence and its intention to replace the current "Core i3" series.

Previously, Intel had released models including the Core Ultra 5, 7, and 9, while the Core Ultra 3 series had been conspicuously absent until this recent revelation.

The leaked document indicates that the Core Ultra 3 205 will not be available in the "K", "KF", or "F" series variants. This suggests that the Core Ultra 3 205 will be targeted at the budget segment of the market. For now, it appears to be the sole SKU within the Core Ultra 3 lineup.

Regarding specifications and performance, the Core Ultra 3 205 is anticipated to feature an eight-core configuration, likely comprising four P-cores and four E-cores. It is expected to offer a base speed of 3.9 GHz and can potentially accelerate to 4.8 GHz on the P-cores.

Details about the integrated graphics are still under wraps, although improvements over previous iterations are anticipated.

With the adoption of the new Lion Cove P-core and Skymont E-core architectures, this Core Ultra 3 model is poised to present a formidable challenge to older generation CPUs like the Core i3 14100/F.

The Core Ultra 3 205 is expected to be officially launched in the first quarter of 2025, with a potential debut at CES 2025.
